Mark Fletcher-Single has been involved in boarding and international education for the past twenty years. He started his career at Seaford College in West Sussex as a Design & Technology teacher and Resident House Tutor. He then moved to St. Lawrence College in Ramsgate as a Housemaster and Head of Department. He has spent the last eight years as a Director and Head of Boarding in two schools. Sophia Pak has a BS in Foreign Language Education, an MA in Psychological Counseling and an MEd in School Counseling, as well as years of experience as a counselor and teacher. Her interest in traveling, passion for working with adolescents, and desire to both teach and learn languages make education and counseling the perfect field for Sophia. This year she is excited about working in a global, international company and working with international students and their families.Read More
Brittney earned her BA in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey and went on to receive her M.S.Ed in School Counseling as well as an Advanced Certificate in TESOL and Special Education from Long Island University. Brittney has always had a passion for helping others and believes that each student has the ability to succeed and should receive the resources needed to do so. Ms. Mangieri previously worked at a school in Westchester County with the ASD population as well as working in a public school playing an active role helping sixth graders transition into middle school. She has been a cheerleading coach for over 12 years and has coached many different levels including; collegiate, high school, all-star and youth. This past year Brittney took her counseling experiences to Michigan, where she was the sole counselor for students grades 6-12. Maiya Marshall has a Bachelor's in Sociology, a Master's in Psychological Counseling (emphasis in school counseling), and a certification in College Admissions and Career Planning. Maiya is making a career change from her prior experience as an administrative assistant, and is excited to be joining the EF Academy community this year. She particularly enjoys counseling adolescents through the struggles they encounter and guiding them through the college admissions process.Read More
Christine Conese has a BA in Psychology and a Master of Education in School Counseling, with lots of experience in special education and school counseling. Christine is excited to join the EF family and looks forward to forming meaningful, lasting relationships. Joan Wilisoni has been involved in international education and IB programs for over 25 years. She was previously the principal at the International School Nadi, an IB world school in Fiji where she introduced the IB Diploma in 2006. Joan has been an IB Coordinator, teacher and examiner, and has also been a member of the IB Diploma five-year review committee for the Asia Pacific region. From 2000 to 2004 she was a member of Association of Australian IB Schools Standing Committee. She holds a diploma in Science Teaching and a BA in Education and Management from the University of the South Pacific. Her current role at the school involves overseeing the nonacademic lives of our students.Read More
Prior to EF Academy, Carolina Fruscione worked as part of the Events Management team for the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and UK Cancer Research. She also has experience working in the Aftersales Department of a luxury brand, helping her develop excellent customer service and client support skills that she makes use of everyday as the Accommodation Manager.Read More
Neil Abbott has spent three years studying pastoral care and theology, twenty-five years working in pastoral ministry in a protestant church, and 4.5 years working as a teaching assistant with students. Neil has been working pastorally at EF Torbay since March 2013 when he began working as a guidance counsellor. Last year, his role was changed to embrace the academic side of students' lives as well; he is now a Pathway manager for students from Germany, Russia, Spain and USA. Pauline Zhang holds a BA in Tourism Management and has been working with EF for just over 8 years. Pauline transferred to EF Academy Torbay in 2015 to work as a guidance counselor and subsequently as a Pathway Manager. Pauline has a great deal of experience working with students around the world in an academic and pastoral capacity, offering guidance and support to students in her care. Students studying and living far away from home will always receive the support and comfort they need to feel happy studying abroad at our boarding schools in New York, Pasadena and Oxford. Our house parents will live alongside you in our campus residences and share daily life with you and your classmates. Your guidance counselor will also be there for you if you ever need someone to talk to.
We aim to involve you in your child’s academic achievements in addition to providing you with a consistently high level of service and support, and reassurance whenever you need it. Your child’s guidance counselor will serve as your representative at our private school and you can contact them directly if you have questions about your child’s education. Your local admissions consultant will also be able to help you if you feel uncomfortable communicating in English.
